“Here we go again”
We are still pinching ourselves thinking that we had an NINTH Pause Floral Workshop. We found ourselves again at the beautiful THE VENUE in Paarl, with a special group of humans.
Beautiful flower souls from all around the country invested in this journey and trusted us with their creative hearts.
It is important for us to make our students feel special. Our little labour of love after each day of class is to set the table. We just love to see their faces when they walk in each day and see all of the special details put together just for them.

Day 1 was all about theory and tablescapes. When learning a new skill (or even just sharping up old ones) it is best to start at the beginning. So we start with the basics and build our students up to a point where they have the skills to do anything they put their mind to. We also have a social media session with the girls from Galvin Creative Studio – we just love these info sessions!

Day 2 was all about learning the relationship between florist and our wholesalers with Ettienne from Groenigheid, phone photography with Jenni Elizabeth, bouquets, floral accessories and yes, a tad more theory.

Meet Ettiene du Toit
Ettiene du Toit is the founder and owner of Groenigheid! Groenigheid was born out of a simple wish – to make life a little easier for florists. Ettiene saw firsthand how much love and hard work goes into creating something beautiful with flowers, and he wanted to build a business that could support that passion with reliability, care, and quality.
We love how he helps our students understand the process of ordering flowers, explaining the journey from farm to warehouse and into our hands to start creating.

Meet Jenni Elizabeth
We introduced you to another amazing friend of ours, Jenni Elizabeth. Jenni is known for her beautiful and timeless approach to wedding photography, content creation for well known brands and phone photography! Jenni gives our students a crash course in phone photography and we LOVE all the “a-ha” moments our students have during her presentation.

Meet Galvin Creative Studio
Galvin Creative Studio is a social media agency who specialises in digital marketing and content creation. No, you are not seeing double! These two creative hearts are not only twins but also a powerful duo in this new era of social media and all the strategies behind it. They shared the tip of the iceberg with our students and we just love seeing all the creative juices starting to flow!

Day 3 is all about the installations. Starting the day with a tad more theory, covering certain mechanics that you would mostly use when doing large installations. For the practical installation we only focussed on creating an arch using the mechanical opportunities the venue had on offer and finished it off with romantic growing floor posies. During this session, we love to take a step back and observe our students. It is really amazing to see how they’ve grown in only 3 days, hearing them laugh and chatting up a storm with their new-found-flower-friends. Have a look at our Pause July 2025 editorial here.

We wish we could share ALL of the beautiful photographs but that is just not possible! A big thank you again to all of our students who trusted us with their hearts and their hard earned cabbage. We feel blessed to know you and we look forward to see where your creativity leads you.
